Introduction to Embroidery with Mixed Threads

This practical two-week course introduces embroidery with mixed threads through four complementary designs.

Helen will cover embroidery tools and mark-making while demonstrating how different thread types can be used with simple embroidery stitches.

Participants will work four complementary designs, showcasing the variety of threads and effectiveness of simple stitch variations across four stitch families.

First class:

• Kit 1 – Running Stitch: Tree, using earthy greens and browns
• Kit 2 – Chain Stitch: River, using water blues
• Running stitch, whipped running stitch, chain stitch and some variations

Second class:

• Kit 3 – Blanket Stitch: Fire, using reds and oranges
• Kit 4 – Fly Stitch: Cloud, using whites, creams and pale colours
• Blanket stitches and fly stitches

Course dates:

• Wednesday 9 September 2026, 10 am–1 pm
• Wednesday 16 September 2026, 10 am–1 pm

This is a two-week course and is booked as a set of two classes.

Total cost: $110 per person

• Two-week course: $90
• Four materials kits: $20

All four materials kits are included in the total booking price. The kits provide the fabric, needles and selection of threads required for the four designs.

An embroidery frame is not required. Participants who know they are more comfortable using one may bring their own.

Class numbers: Minimum two and maximum eight participants. Bookings will be accepted in the order received. If the course fills before the website is updated, we will contact you and offer either priority booking in a future course or a full refund.

This is an in-person course held at Crafty Frog. It is not available online.
