Edmar Embroidery Threads - Boucle

EdMar Bouclé is a decorative embroidery thread with a distinctive looped, nubbly structure designed to add strong texture and dimensional interest to hand embroidery and surface embellishment.

Made from rayon, this thread has a subtle sheen and colour depth that differs from natural fibres. The bouclé construction creates a deliberately raised, uneven surface, making it ideal for bold outlines, organic effects, textured fills, and experimental stitching rather than fine detail or smooth, even work.

Please note that fibre type plays an important role in how colour is perceived. As a rayon thread, EdMar Bouclé may reflect light differently and can appear brighter or more lustrous than cotton or silk threads. When used alongside natural fibres, colours may not blend seamlessly in mixed-fibre projects.

Colours may also vary slightly from screen to screen, and the textured looped finish can appear more pronounced in real life than in photographs. If you are unfamiliar with bouclé threads or are working primarily with natural fibres, we recommend testing a single skein before committing to a larger project.
