Chaska Lila Alpaca / Merino
Chaska Lila is a softly-spun 12-ply blend that brings the warmth and drape of alpaca together with the resilience of merino for everyday wear.
The colour effect is distinctive: a single coloured strand is twisted over a dark base, giving subtle depth and heathered interest without busy pooling.
Ideal for fast, cosy makes—think hats, cowls, wraps and relaxed jumpers—Lila knits comfortably on 5–6 mm needles with a cushy, next-to-skin feel.
Fibre: 37% Superfine Alpaca, 26% Suri Alpaca, 37% Merino.
Ply / Weight: 12-ply.
Ball: 50 g / approx. 100 m.
Gauge / Tension: 16 sts × 22 rows = 10 cm on 5–6 mm needles (guide).
Care: Mild hand wash. Cool iron. Dry flat in shade.
Origin: Spun in Peru.
Choosing Lila solves common problems like “looks flat” fabrics and scratchy winter knits—the suri adds a gentle halo and sheen, while merino adds bounce so pieces hold their shape and wear well.
