The Dingo, Canis familiaris dingo, is the native Australian wild dog. It was introduced to Australia about 3000 years ago from Asia and has returned to the wild. They sometimes hunt in packs and can bring down cattle or large kangaroos.

Females rear their young in a cave, hollow log or dug-out rabbit warren. Dingoes yelp or howl and do not bark like the normal dog. It is an offense to feed dingoes in the wild.

This design is based on the wonderful photography of Lisa Auty. Another design based on her photography is the Snow Leopard.
